Kimberley Diamond Co unit of Gem Diamonds Ltd signed a long-term Return to Tiffany Oval tag bracelet to provide the subsidiary of high-end jeweler Tiffany & Co with fancy yellow diamonds, which sent the shares of this giant diamond company up 7.5 percent.
Formalizing an existing supply arrangement, this agreement will run for the economic life of the Ellendale mine. And the whole cooperation is expected to last about five years, a top company official said.
"Tiffany has contracted to buy all of the fancy yellow diamonds which we produce from the mine for the life of the mine," Gem Diamonds Chief Tiffany 1837 square cufflinks Clifford Elphick told Reuters. "With respect to the pricing, they pay us the full market price for the diamonds and Tiffany 1837 concove circle cufflinks meet every six months to review that pricing." Elphick, however, declined to reveal the financial terms of the deal citing confidentiality agreements.
